Former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has dismissed rumors suggesting he is leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speculation about Fayemi’s defection gained traction on social media following the recent move of his ally, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) on Monday.
Addressing the claims on his Facebook page, Fayemi reaffirmed his commitment to the APC, stating, *”Nothing has changed.”*
He emphasized that he remains a founding member of the party while advocating for solutions to its internal challenges.
“My attention has been drawn to a story circulating on several online platforms regarding my defection from the All Progressives Congress,”
Fayemi wrote. “As I have had cause to state in the past, I am a card-carrying foundation member of the APC, and this position has not changed.”
While acknowledging the need for greater internal democracy and inclusivity within the party, Fayemi expressed hope that the APC could still address these concerns and chart a more inclusive path forward.
