Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani has congratulated the Nigerian Super Falcons on their resounding triumph at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), describing the win as a landmark moment for women’s sports and a powerful testament to the resilience of Nigerian women.
In a statement issued in Yola on Monday 28th, 2025, Senator Binani, a leading advocate for women’s empowerment and gender inclusion, commended the team’s performance throughout the tournament, culminating in their championship victory.
She said the Super Falcons have made Nigeria incredibly proud, saying their performance is a shining example of the strength and resilience of Nigerian women.
She singled out the team’s captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, who was named Woman of the Match, and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, who clinched the Goalkeeper of the Tournament award, praising them as role models for aspiring athletes.
Senator Binani who acknowledged that the victory goes beyond football, described it as a national inspiration and lauded the goal scorers Esther Okoronkwo, Folashade Ijamulusi and Jennifer Echegini for their brilliance on the field.
