…Predicts Economic Boom Under President Tinubu’s Leadership
In a bold testament to gender inclusion, Ekiti State First Lady, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, has declared Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration the most women-friendly in the country, boasting the highest number of elected and appointed female officials among Nigeria’s 36 states.
Speaking during a tour of Oye and Ikole Local Government Areas, where she met with women’s groups to express gratitude for their unwavering support for the governor, Dr. Oyebanji celebrated the administration’s historic milestone in female representation.

She acknowledged the critical roles women hold in the state, with positions ranging from Deputy Governor and Secretary to the State Government to Head of Service and key legislative and executive posts.
Her visit coincided with a defection in Ikole, where former PDP members, led by ex-Local Government Chairman Mrs. Abiola Kayode, crossed over to the APC, underscoring the growing confidence in Oyebanji’s progressive leadership.

Amidst the backdrop of a national economic crisis, Dr. Oyebanji expressed optimism about the nation’s economic future, predicting a boom under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership.

She emphasized the strategic measures being implemented to redirect the economy towards benefiting the masses, while also applauding the federal government’s initiatives to empower women.
“Governor Oyebanji is a compassionate leader who has earned the trust of Ekiti people,” she noted, while also crediting her predecessor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, for laying the groundwork for women’s political recognition. “Under this administration, the number of women in key positions has soared, giving them the respect and influence they deserve.”

Dr. Oyebanji further revealed that Ekiti had benefited from the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Remi Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative, which provided N50 million to the state for empowering women.
As Ekiti’s women leaders and stakeholders rallied around the administration’s accomplishments, the First Lady urged continued support for her husband’s leadership and vision, expressing confidence that Oyebanji’s second term would further elevate the state’s development.
