Nutri-Peak Engages Ekiti Poultry Farmers on Productivity, Financing

Nutri-Peak Nigeria Limited has engaged poultry farmers in Ekiti State in a stakeholders’ forum aimed at improving productivity, profitability and sustainability in the poultry sector.

The programme, which was held in Ado-Ekiti, brought together poultry farmers, veterinary expert, financial institution and industry stakeholders to discuss challenges facing poultry farming and practical solutions.

Speaking at the event, the National Sales Manager of Nutri-Peak Nigeria Limited, Mr. B. D. Emmanuel, said the forum was organised to directly support poultry farmers in Ekiti State through knowledge sharing, access to quality feeds and linkage with relevant support groups.

Mr. Emmanuel explained that many of the challenges confronting poultry farmers, including poor growth and low profit, are often linked to the use of inefficient feeds and substandard farm inputs.

He used the opportunity to introduce Nutri-Peak’s range of poultry feeds, stressing that the use of quality feeds such as Peak Feeds would help farmers achieve better productivity and maximize profit.

Also speaking, the Ekiti State Chairman of the Poultry Association of Nigeria, Mr. Alonge Oluwasetemi, emphasized the importance of effective digital communication among poultry stakeholders, noting that it would enhance collaboration, resilience and long-term sustainability in the sector.

He urged both existing and intending poultry farmers to register with the association, saying membership would enable them to benefit from various initiatives, trainings and support systems rather than operating in isolation.

In his lecture, the Ekiti State Chairman of the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association, Dr. Victor Ojo, commended Nutri-Peak for organizing the forum and advised farmers to prioritize bio-security measures on their farms.

Dr. Ojo urged poultry farmers to closely monitor the health condition of their birds, work regularly with qualified veterinarians and avoid sharing farm tools to prevent the spread of diseases.

On access to finance, a representative of NIRSAL Microfinance Bank, Mrs. Mujidat Salawu, educated participants on funding opportunities available to farmers through the bank.

She stressed that capacity building and integrity are key to business success, while lamenting poor loan repayment culture, especially in Africa.

Mrs. Salawu explained that farmers with good credit history and proven integrity stand a better chance of accessing loans from NIRSAL Microfinance Bank to expand their poultry businesses.

Some of the participants who spoke after the programme, expressed appreciation to Nutri-Peak Nigeria Limited for the initiative, describing the forum as timely and impactful.

They promised to apply the knowledge gained and try out Nutri-Peak products in a bid to improve productivity and profitability in their poultry farming operations.
