Residents of Oye-Ekiti Commend Gov. Oyebanji for Reconstruction of Damaged Culvert

The residents of Oye-Ekiti, especially people living in the Ilodo community in the Oye Local Government Area, have commended the State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, for the reconstruction of the damaged road culvert within the community.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the road leads to Oye local government library, INEC office, Oye Egbo High School, Crawford University, Oye-Ekiti and Ire township.

The culvert has been damaged for over 5 years, and residents of the Ilodo community have been trying to reach out to the state government for assistance,, but it yielded no results.

Reacting to the new development, the Obalodo of Oye Kingdom, Chief Bamitale Oguntoyinbo, who spoke on behalf of the community, expressed utmost gratitude to the state governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, for his commitment to improving the life of rural people.

Oguntoyinbo said the residents, indigenes, farmers and members of staff of the institution using the road had suffered neglect over the years until the community leaders of the Ilodo community wrote an appeal letter to the state governor for assistance.

” I want to sincerely, on behalf of the Ilodo community and the entire Oye kingdom, thank our amiable governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, for approving the reconstruction of the damaged culvert of our road in our community for several years.

” The damaged culvert has prevented the farmers from transporting their farm produce, and it has affected residents and workers in Oye-Ekiti from gaining access to the local government library and INEC office, among other important offices located in the area.

” The community made efforts severally to reconstruct the culvert but it did not yield any meaningful impact until the community leaders in Ilodo quarters, including myself, Mr Femi Babalola, Mr Samuel Ojo, Mr Sunday Dada, and Mr Olomola Akomolafe, wrote an appeal letter to Governor Biodun Oyebanji some months ago.

“We are delighted that our efforts have yielded positive results for our dear community, and we want to thank Governor Oyebanji for approving the reconstruction of the damaged culvert,” he said.

Obalodo said the ongoing reconstruction of the box culvert of the road leading to the Oye local government library, INEC office, Oye Egbo High School, Crawford University, Oye-Ekiti and Ire township would be completed in a few weeks.

Oguntoyinbo assured Governor Oyebanji of the unconditional support of the Oye community for his second term in office.

He prayed that God would continually grant him more wisdom to pilot the affairs of Ekiti to a greater and more enviable position.
