The Sultan of Sokoto and president of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, has declared today as Eid-el-Fitr for the year 1446/2025 signalling the end of the Ramadan fast.
The Sultan in a broadcast, said the declaration followed the sighting of the Cresent moon of Shawwal in some parts of the country with a call on Muslims to celebrate in moderation and pray for the progress of the country.
Muslim faithful in their beautiful attires are expected to converge on open ground this morning to observe obligatory two rakats prayers after which they will wine and dine with family members.
