Adamawa APC Elders Endorse Tinubu for 2027 Re-election

The Adamawa Progressive Elders Council has formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement was announced at a high-level meeting of the Council held on Monday at the Muna Hotel in Yola, attended by prominent leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

In a statement issued after the meeting, by the Vice Chairman of the Council, Senator Abubakar Halilu Girei and the secretary, Mrs. Olvadi Bema Madayi, the Council said the decision was based on the need to strengthen party unity and ensure victory for President Tinubu and all APC candidates in Adamawa State during the 2027 election cycle.

The Council, an APC support group formed following the recommendations of the party’s Reconciliation Committee, said its core mandate is to resolve internal disputes and build a united, formidable political structure across the state.

A goodwill message from the Leader of the APC in the State was delivered through the Minister of Livestock Development, Alhaji Idi Mukhtar Maiha.

The elders also expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for appointing the party leader from Adamawa to what they described as a sensitive and strategic national position, as well as for other federal appointments given to indigenes of the state.

As a mark of gratitude, the Council resolved to organise a grand rally and reception in honour of all federal appointees from Adamawa State.

To deepen party unity at the grassroots, the Council announced plans to extend its activities to local government and ward levels, with the aim of identifying and resolving disputes before they escalate.

The group also reaffirmed its policy that any member seeking elective office must resign from the Council to preserve its neutrality in conflict resolution.

To enhance its operations, four committees were inaugurated. They include the Contact and Mobilisation Committee, chaired by Chief Joel Hammanjoda Madaki; the Conflict Resolution Committee, chaired by Prof. Tahir Mamman, SAN; the Finance and General Purpose Committee, chaired by Mrs. Olvadi Bema Madayi; and the Media and Publicity Committee, chaired by Ahmad Sajoh, fnipr.

It pledged its loyalty to the APC leadership and a commitment to implement all resolutions aimed at securing the party’s success in Adamawa State.

The meeting attracted top party figures, including a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, former governors, serving and former ministers, and experienced legislators.
