‎Sunday Ola Denies Alleged Endorsement of House of Representatives Aspirant by Gov. Oyebanji‎

‎…Warns Against Divisive Politics

‎A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Sunday Ola, has dismissed claims that Governor Biodun Oyebanji endorsed a particular aspirant for the House of Representatives seat in the constituency.
‎
‎In a statement issued on Friday, Hon. Ola described the allegation as false, misleading and an attempt to deceive party members and the public ahead of political activities in the constituency.
‎
‎He said at no time did the governor endorse any aspirant or authorise anyone to speak on his behalf concerning the House of Representatives race.
‎
‎The APC stalwart also alleged that a party leader in Ado Ekiti had been intimidating members and supporters by claiming that the governor would deny appointments to those who refused to support a preferred aspirant.
‎
‎According to him, such actions were undemocratic and contrary to the principles of fairness and internal democracy which the ruling party represents.
‎
‎Ola maintained that Governor Oyebanji had consistently remained neutral and had repeatedly assured party leaders and stakeholders that the people would be allowed to choose their representative freely without interference or coercion.
‎
‎He added that if the governor had a preferred aspirant, he possessed the courage and leadership capacity to openly engage stakeholders in a transparent manner.
‎
‎The politician further accused the unnamed individual of promoting divisive politics and spreading misinformation on behalf of the incumbent lawmaker, whom he claimed was already facing rejection from the electorate.
‎
‎Ola therefore urged party faithful and supporters to disregard what he described as baseless claims and threats, while calling on them to remain peaceful and committed to the democratic process.
‎
‎He also reaffirmed his loyalty and commitment to the re-election of Governor Oyebanji, urging his supporters to continue their campaigns peacefully and ignore political intimidation and blackmail.
