Faparusi Commends Governor Oyebanji’s Multiple Awards as Governor of the Year

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State and former federal lawmaker, Hon. Bamidele Faparusi, has commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for winning multiple prestigious “Governor of the Year” awards.

Faparusi, a former member of the House of Representatives, described the accolades as well-deserved, emphasizing that they highlight Governor Oyebanji’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of Ekiti residents.

Silverbird Television had last week, named Governor Oyebanji as “Governor of the Year” after a highly competitive selection process involving governors from across Nigeria.

Shortly after, the Nigerian Human Rights Community (NHRC) also recognized him as the best governor of the year for his dedication to promoting human rights and civil liberties.

In a statement by his media office, Faparusi noted that the awards validate the exceptional governance being enjoyed under Governor Oyebanji’s leadership.

He lauded the governor’s selflessness, prudence, humility, and inclusive approach to leadership.

Highlighting key achievements that contributed to the awards, Faparusi expressed delight in the gradual completion and operational readiness of the Ekiti State Agro-Allied Cargo Airport, which is poised to drive economic growth and attract investment.

He also praised the governor for accelerating the completion of the Ekiti State Ring Road Phase One, which connects six communities, creating a suburban Ado Ekiti metropolis and easing traffic congestion in the state capital.

“The flagship initiative of Governor Oyebanji’s administration is the Cluster Farming Programme, which has propelled Ekiti towards food security, through the Youth in Commercial Agriculture Programme, over 900 youths are now engaged in commercial farming, significantly reducing unemployment in the state,” Faparusi remarked.

The former national lawmaker attributed the widespread support for Governor Oyebanji—from workers, traders, transport unions, and even opposition politicians—to his exemplary leadership and governance.

“Ekiti residents have endorsed Governor Oyebanji for a second term barely two years into his tenure, this demonstrates the trust and confidence the people have in his leadership,” Faparusi said.

Congratulating the governor on his remarkable achievements, Faparusi wished him continued success in his current and future endeavours.
