Ekiti First Lady Reaffirms Commitment to Education as Abiyamo Esther Oyebanji Foundation Donates Bus to SUBEB School

School management at all levels has been urged to always embrace the maintenance of every government facility in their care.

The wife of Ekiti State Governor Dr Olayemi Oyebanji gave this plea in her office during the official presentation of a brand new 18-seater bus to SUBEB nursery and primary school, Iye Ekiti in Ilejemeje local government.

Dr Oyebanji said the presentation was a fulfilment of the promise made by the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, during his visit to Ilejemeje local government upon the request of the management and pupils of the school.

She echoed that the gift of the bus to SUBEB Nursery and Primary School, Iye Ekiti, was a result of the smooth relationship that the Governor has with the people of Ekiti State.

“Let me equivocally state that this bus was donated by the Abiyamo Esther Oyebanji Foundation and not the state government adding that the foundation recently built a 3-bedroom bungalow for an aged widow in Igbara Odo Ekiti as well as a fully equipped maternity center in Aramoko Ekiti to mention a few and this is because of the smooth relationship that Mr Governor has with the people of Ekiti State”. She said.

Earlier in their messages, the Commissioner for Education, Dr Kofoworola Aderiye and the SUBEB Chairman, Professor Femi Akinwum,, eulogized the good works of Governor Oyebanji in his efforts at making students at all levels comfortable.

They said Governor Biodun Oyebanji recently approved the release of a 3.5 billion grant as a counterpart fund and the state training of primary and secondary school teachers across the state to ensure quality education delivery.

Responding on behalf of the school and the community, the Chairman of the School-Based Management Committee, Chief Samson Akinwumi, appreciated the Governor and the foundation for the show of love and interest in the comfort of the pupils of the school and the Iye community.

He assured the Governor of the support of the Iye community and the Ilejemeje local government.
