Governance Continues in Rivers State Despite Political Disputes – Fubara

Rivers State Governor, Mr Siminalayi Fubara, has assured residents of his unwavering commitment to peace, stability, and good governance, despite the ongoing political crisis in the state.

While addressing the people of the state, Governor Fubara emphasized that his administration has remained guided by constitutional order, the rule of law, and the welfare of the people.

He noted that since assuming office, his government has prioritized the protection of lives and property while ensuring the state’s continuous progress.

Reflecting on recent developments, the governor stated that following President Bola Tinubu’s intervention, his administration acted in good faith by implementing the agreed peace terms, including the reinstatement of resigned commissioners.

He also said that his government promptly complied with the Supreme Court’s judgment to restore normalcy in the state.

Fubara, however, lamented that despite the efforts, the Rivers State House of Assembly has continuously frustrated attempts to foster peace and unity.

“Our priorities remain the security of lives and property and the overall well-being and prosperity of Rivers people,” the governor said.

He assured that despite political disagreements, governance has continued, with salaries paid, infrastructure projects executed, and the status safe and secure.

Governor Fubara called on Rivers residents to remain peaceful and law-abiding, promising to engage with relevant institutions to protect democracy and ensure the state’s continued growth.

He equally reaffirmed his dedication to upholding peace, unity, and progress, urging citizens to stay calm as efforts to resolve the crisis continue.
