President Tinubu’s Aide Hails Ekiti First Lady, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji, on Her Birthday

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters, Hon. Ibrahim Olarewaju, has extolled the First Lady of Ekiti State, Her Excellency Dr Olayemi Oyebanji, describing her as a beacon of compassion, intellect and service as she marks her birthday.

In a statement, Hon. Olarewaju described Dr Oyebanji as a “profound pillar of strength” to her husband, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, noting that she has consistently demonstrated rare brilliance, humility and selflessness in improving the lives of Ekiti people; especially the less privileged.

“On behalf of my family and the entire team at the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters, I felicitate with a truly remarkable woman, Her Excellency Dr Olayemi Oyebanji, on the occasion of her birthday,” Hon. Olarewaju stated.

He lauded the First Lady’s passion for education and human capital development, particularly her voluntary service as a lecturer in three tertiary institutions in the state.

According to him, her decision to teach without pay reflects her unwavering belief in knowledge transfer and her commitment to mentoring the next generation of leaders.

“This singular act of selfless service underscores her dedication to moulding future leaders and her deep-rooted conviction that education remains the greatest tool for empowerment,” he said.

Hon. Olarewaju also commended the First Lady’s humanitarian efforts through her pet project, the Widows, Aged and Orphans Hope (WAOH) Initiative, which, he noted, has provided lifelines and empowerment opportunities for countless Ekiti residents.

He further praised Dr Oyebanji for her proactive advocacy for women’s rights and her firm stance on the enforcement of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) laws, describing her as a courageous voice for justice and equality.

Highlighting her focus on child welfare, the presidential aide applauded the Back to School project spearheaded by the First Lady, which has distributed school bags, learning materials and other essentials to over 10,000 children across the state.

He particularly noted her special attention to the girl-child, ensuring they have the necessary support to thrive academically.

Concluding his statement, Hon. Olarewaju offered a final, heartfelt congratulatory message:
“We celebrate not just the passing of a year, but a year filled with immense impact, grace, and purposeful leadership. May God grant Her Excellency Dr Olayemi Oyebanji many more years in sound health, prosperity, and continued inspiration to advance her remarkable service to Ekiti State and humanity.”
