The Ado Ekiti Unique Lions Club has extended a hand of compassion to special persons in the community, donating essential food and household items to support their welfare.
The humanitarian gesture, carried out in collaboration with Ekiti One Mind, Ekiti Legacy and Ado Ekiti Central Lions Clubs, took place at the Ekiti State Relief and Rehabilitation Centre in Ado Ekiti.
Leading the exercise, the President of Ado Ekiti Unique Lions Club, Lion Tunde Onipede, said the initiative stemmed from the club’s commitment to serving humanity and supporting the less privileged in society.
Lion Onipede explained that the gesture reflects the club’s core mission of alleviating suffering and bringing hope to disadvantaged individuals within the community.
He also commended the management and staff of the Relief Home for their dedication to caring for the vulnerable people and assured that the club would continue to impact lives positively through similar interventions.
Receiving the items, the Resident Officer of the Relief Home, Mr. Adedapo Adetunji, expressed gratitude to the Lions Clubs for their thoughtful donation, describing it as a valuable support to government efforts in catering for vulnerable citizens.
Items donated included bags of rice, garri, boxes of spaghetti, tubers of yam, clothing and toiletries, which were presented to the management of the centre.
