Former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, mother of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
In a statement by his media office, Dr Fayemi described the passing of the matriarch as a significant loss, not only to the El-Rufai family but also to all who came in contact with her during her lifetime.
He noted that the late Hajiya Umma lived a life marked by humility, strong moral values, and devotion to family and community, qualities he said were reflected in the life and public service of her son.
Dr Fayemi said he received the news of her passing with sadness but urged the family to take solace in the impactful and exemplary life she lived.
The former Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum extended his heartfelt condolences to Nasir El-Rufai and the entire family, encouraging them to remain strong in the face of the loss.
He also prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased, asking Almighty Allah to grant her Aljannah Firdaus and comfort those she left behind
