The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has dismissed as false a notice circulating on social media claiming that students with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) below 2.50 would have their upkeep allowances suspended.
In a statement, NELFUND said the notice did not originate from the agency and should be disregarded by students, tertiary institutions, stakeholders, and members of the public.
The Fund described the information as misinformation aimed at misleading beneficiaries and creating unnecessary anxiety among students participating in its programmes.
NELFUND urged the public to rely solely on information released through its official communication channels for accurate updates regarding its policies, operations, and student support initiatives.
The agency also called on Nigerians to help curb the spread of false information by verifying claims before sharing them, stressing its commitment to transparency and effective communication with beneficiaries across the country.
