Ekiti Honours Fayemi, Fayose, Oni with Government Buildings

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has named some newly completed government buildings after three former governors of the state in recognition of their contributions to Ekiti’s growth and development.

The buildings named after former Governor Dr Kayode Fayemi and immediate past Governor Chief Ayodele Fayose are scheduled for commissioning on Friday, July 31, and Monday, August 3, respectively.

Another facility named after former Governor Engr. Segun Oni is nearing completion and is expected to be inaugurated in October.

The three former governors will personally commission the buildings named after them as Special Guests of Honour on their respective inauguration dates.

The gesture follows a similar recognition in October 2024 when the remodelled Presidential Lodge was named after the state’s first civilian governor, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, who also commissioned the facility during activities marking Governor Oyebanji’s second anniversary in office.

According to a statement by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Olayinka Oyebode, the inauguration of the projects marks the beginning of another round of project commissioning by the Oyebanji administration ahead of the governor’s second-term inauguration.

The statement added that the initiative reflects Governor Oyebanji’s commitment to honouring past leaders while ensuring that projects embarked upon by his administration are completed and put to public use in line with the administration’s Shared Prosperity Agenda.
