The Ekiti South Integrity Group has rallied behind a lawmaker representing Ekiti South Federal Constituency 2, Hon. Femi Bamisile, dismissing recent accusations against him by Comrade Afuye Idowu as baseless and politically motivated.
In a statement signed by Mr Dare Obe, the group condemned Comrade Idowu’s allegations, describing them as part of a pattern of betrayal and falsehood.
The group identified Idowu’s history of alleged financial improprieties, blackmail, and criticisms directed at leaders who had previously supported him.
“Comrade Idowu’s actions are well-documented, particularly his tendency to launch smear campaigns against leaders who decline his insincere demands for assistance,” the statement read.
Contrasting Idowu’s behaviour, the group celebrated Hon. Bamisile’s track record of transformative leadership and tangible achievements.
In the area of Infrastructure Development, the group pointed out the construction of roads, such as the Iludofin township road and Edugbe/Ekurugbe/Ijero township road, which it said had boosted connectivity and economic activities in the constituency.
It further highlighted that improved access to water and Healthcare Solar-powered boreholes and medical outreach programmes have enhanced the quality of life for residents, while Hon. Bamisile has provided free JAMB forms and scholarships as well as built educational facilities to support learning.
According to the group, job creation, skills training, and support for vulnerable groups underline Bamisile’s commitment to the community’s socioeconomic growth.
“These accomplishments are not just numbers; they are a testament to Hon. Bamisile’s dedication to improving the lives of his constituents,” the group emphasized.
The statement urged Comrade Idowu to reconsider his approach and cautioned that a history of betrayal and deceit could have dire consequences.
The group invited residents of Ekiti South Federal Constituency to reaffirm their confidence in Hon. Bamisile’s leadership and reject any attempt to derail the community’s progress to foster unity.
“Together, we must prioritize our collective aspirations and support leaders who genuinely strive for the welfare of our constituency,” the group submitted.
