An Ekiti woman, identified as Mrs Adewole Taiwo Florence is seeking financial assistance from the Ekiti State government and well-meaning Nigerians for cancer treatment.
This was contained in a letter addressed to the Office of the Wife of the Governor signed by Dr Abiyere O.H, Consultant General at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti.
According to the letter, Mrs Florence, who is 34 years old, with hospital number 110868, is a known patient of the unit managed as a case of Recurrent Right Breast cancer.
“She has been under our care for some time now. However, she has not been regular on the treatment required due to financial constraints. Hence, there is a need to solicit financial assistance for care.
“The breakdown of care is as follows: Surgery = N250,000, Chemotherapy = N300,000, Radiotherapy = N850,000 and Miscellaneous = N400,000 amounting to a total of N1,800,000.”
