ITTHADUL WAAITHEN, an Islamic preaching organisation in Ekiti State, has called on Muslims across Nigeria to emulate the exemplary character and virtues of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as they commemorate this year’s Maulud Nabiy.
The organisation, led in Ekiti State by its Amir, Professor Ahmad Aminullah, made the call in a goodwill message felicitating Muslims, particularly the Muslim Ummah in Ekiti State, on the occasion.
Professor Aminullah urged Muslims to reflect on the teachings and lifestyle of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), describing his life as an enduring model of peace, compassion, justice, tolerance, honesty and righteousness.
He also called on Islamic scholars and preachers to recognise their responsibility in shaping society through their sermons, urging them to use their platforms to promote peace, unity, tolerance and peaceful coexistence rather than messages capable of creating division and discord.
ITTHADUL WAAITHEN condemned the security challenges confronting the country, stressing that Islam is a religion of peace and does not sanction the killing of innocent people.
The organisation therefore urged Nigerians, irrespective of religious or ethnic affiliations, to embrace mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and national unity, noting that peace remains essential to the progress and development of the country.
Professor Ahmad Aminullah also commended the leadership of the League of Imams and Alfas of Southern Nigeria, Edo and Delta, under its President-General, Sheikh Dr. Jamiu Bello Kewulere, for its efforts towards strengthening Islamic leadership and promoting unity among Muslims.
The Ekiti State Amir of ITTHADUL WAAITHEN offered prayers for the National Amir of ITTHAD, Alhaji Taofeeq Akewugbagold, asking Allah to grant him wisdom, guidance and protection in the discharge of his responsibilities.
He also prayed for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, asking Allah to grant them wisdom, strength and divine guidance to lead the country and the state towards peace, progress and prosperity.
The organisation prayed that Allah continue to bless Nigeria and grant the nation lasting peace, unity, stability and prosperity.
