A middle-aged woman, whose identity remains undisclosed, has tragically committed suicide by jumping into a deep river on Akin Akeju Street, opposite the teaching hospital in Ado Ekiti.
A witness reported that despite various efforts to prevent the woman from taking her own life, she returned to the river after being stopped by passersby earlier in the day and ultimately jumped in.
Other witnesses explained that she was a patient at a nearby traditional clinic for individuals with mental health issues, saying they suspected that she was sent on an errand after showing signs of recovery.
Sympathizers have contacted relevant authorities and security operatives, who have since removed the body of the deceased from the river.
