Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, has dismissed circulating rumours about the alleged shutdown of the Government House and his supposed decision to go on terminal leave before his administration concludes on November 12, 2024.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media Projects, Mr Crusoe Osagie, Governor Obaseki reassured the public that his government remains fully operational and dedicated to its mandate.
He called on those spreading misinformation to desist from such actions aimed at undermining his administration.
The statement highlighted Governor Obaseki’s recent activities, including the groundbreaking ceremony at Jesuit University in Ewatto, Esan South East Local Government Area, on Wednesday, and his leadership of the Executive Council (EXCO) meeting on Thursday, attended by Special Advisers and Commissioners.
“Contrary to the false insinuations, Governor Obaseki was at Ewatto for the Jesuit University groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday and presided over the EXCO meeting on Thursday,” the statement read.
Governor Obaseki urged the public to disregard the fabrications and assured the people of Edo State that his government remains committed to their welfare and the state’s development.
