Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has announced a series of key appointments to strengthen governance and enhance service delivery in the state.
A member of the state’s executive council, Mr. Oyeniyi Adebayo, has been appointed Chief of Staff to the Governor, effective January 2, 2025.
Adebayo, currently the Commissioner for Budget, Economic Planning, and Performance Management is expected to leverage his vast experience in finance, management, and planning to coordinate activities within the Governor’s Office.
In a statement by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Mr. Yinka Oyebode, Adebayo’s appointment underscores the administration’s commitment to ensuring effective governance and seamless policy implementation.
The Governor has also approved the appointment of Hon. Femi Ajayi as Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, a portfolio he previously held.
Ajayi, who is presently the Special Adviser to the Governor on Independent Project Monitoring, will assume office on January 2, 2025, while the ministry will revert to its original name, the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning.
In another strategic move, Governor Oyebanji established the Office of Special Services, appointing Prince Wole Ajakaiye as its Special Adviser.
Ajakaiye, who currently serves as Director General/Special Adviser on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), will oversee SDGs, Independent Project Monitoring, and other designated responsibilities.
In a related development, Barrister Tajudeen Akingbolu has been named Director General of the newly established Ekiti State Transport Agency, effective January 2, 2025.
Akingbolu, a former member of the State House of Assembly, is expected to spearhead reforms in the state’s transport sector.
Governor Oyebanji congratulated all the appointees and charged them to deliver results that justified the confidence reposed in them.
