Sheikh Kewulere Leads Prayers at First Meeting of Newly Constituted Ekiti Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board

…calls for Transparency, Goal-Setting

The President of the League of Imams and Alfas in the South-West, Edo, and Delta state, Sheikh Jamiu Kewulere Bello, has urged members of the newly inaugurated Ekiti Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board EMPWB to embrace transparency and remain focused on their mission.

He made the call during the board’s inaugural meeting and prayer session, where he led other prominent Imams in Ekiti to offer prayers for the success of the board.

Sheikh Kewulere advised the board members to prioritize accountability and goal-setting in all their undertakings.

He expressed confidence in their ability to deliver, commending Governor Biodun Oyebanji for appointing devout Muslims to serve on the board. “You must be transparent and committed to the responsibilities ahead,” Kewulere admonished.

The Chairman of the Ekiti Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board, Alhaji Salman Adedipe, expressed his gratitude to Governor Oyebanji for the trust placed in him and the other board members.

He pledged to make the board a leading institution in Nigeria’s pilgrimage administration, promising to fulfil the expectations of the Muslim community.

Other board members include Mrs. Fatima Bello, Alhaja Suwebat Sulayman, Alhaji Rasheed Bakare, and Alhaji Jamiu Subair. The board has been tasked with ensuring seamless pilgrimage operations for Ekiti Muslims, with support and guidance from the state’s Islamic leaders.

The prayer session, led by Sheikh Kewulere, marked the beginning of the board’s activities and is seen as a significant step in reinforcing the welfare and spiritual journey of Muslim pilgrims in Ekiti State.
