Zenith Bank Ado-Ekiti Vows to Beautify Branch Frontage, Clear Drainage

The management of Zenith Bank, Ado-Ekiti branch, has assured residents and customers that efforts are in top gear to improve the aesthetics and drainage system around the bank’s premises.

Speaking with News Tarmac, the bank officials, revealed that the bank had already initiated steps to address the poor state of the road and beautify the surrounding area particularly the Onigari Roundabout even before the recent public outcry on social media.

“We had written to our headquarters long before now to request approval for the rehabilitation of the road and beautification of the area under our Corporate Social Responsibility programme,” she said. “The request is currently receiving attention.”

They noted that improving the environment and ensuring easier accessibility has always been part of the bank’s long-term operational vision.

“As a responsible institution, we understand that a clean and accessible frontage reflects not only on the bank but also on the city. It has always been in our plans,” she added.

They expressed that the bank has consistently taken internal measures to manage the drainage and maintain its frontage, despite the challenges posed by the area’s topography and recurring seasonal floods.

“We routinely clear the frontage and do what we can to prevent flooding,” she explained.

As a temporary measure, she disclosed that the bank would clear the blocked drainage this week to enable the free flow of water, particularly during this rainy season.

“We’re not waiting for approval before acting on urgent issues. Clearing the drains is a stop-gap measure we’ll take immediately, but more permanent solutions will follow after the rains subside,” she assured.

Reacting to concerns about indiscriminate waste disposal contributing to the drainage problem, Zenith bank officials decried the actions of some residents and passersby.

“We’ve noticed people dumping waste indiscriminately into the drainage. This practice worsens the flooding. We urge the public to be more responsible,” she said. She also called on the state government and relevant agencies to step up sanitation efforts in the area.

They reiterated the bank’s commitment to community development and expressed optimism that with joint efforts from the bank, government, and members of the public, the environment around the branch would soon see a remarkable transformation.

“We are part of this community, and we are committed to its progress. With collaboration, we can create a cleaner and more organized environment for everyone,” she concluded.
