As Christians commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the faithful have been urged to desist from unbiblical practices and societal ills that have become acceptable standards.
Speaking with newsmen on the occasion of Easter, the Founder of Holy Trinity Authority Prophetic Church Ado-Ekiti, Prophet James Omitade, highlighted some of the unbiblical practices including Immorality, sexual promiscuity, greed, materialism, love of wealth, dishonesty and lack of integrity.
“What is forbidden before now is now acceptable in our society, that is why the society is in disarray”.
The cleric who noted that the world is turning upside down and is filled with evil called on Nigerians to always have the fear of the Lord in their hearts to guide their steps towards good deeds.
“The word is becoming darker, what does not make sense biblically and culturally is now making sense”.
According to him, people now celebrate wealth without bothering to find out the source of income of the concerned individuals, especially the young ones.
“Many people in Nigeria, particularly 17, 18, 19 years of age, live flamboyantly without an exact source of income, and we are keeping quiet because of what we want to eat; this is not what God want from us”.
“When we were Young, if we brought home, what did not belong to us, our parents would deal with us, with a directive to us to return such item, but the reverse is the case now.
He also berated some Clerics who, because of personal gains, can not tell the truth to their congregations; rather, they are fond of celebrating wealthy individuals in their Churches.
The Cleric charged Political leaders to imbibe the leadership qualities of Jesus Christ who lived a sacrificial lifestyle and forgiveness, instead of amassing riches for themselves.
He encouraged Christians to return to the teachings of the Bible and live according to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Prophet Omitade also implored them to prioritize their relationship with God, seeking to deepen their understanding of His Word and His will for their lives.
