All is now set for the 40th anniversary celebration of the Chief Imam of Ado Ekiti and President-General of the League of Imams and Alfas in the South-West, Edo and Delta States, Sheikh Jamiu Bello-Kewulere.

The milestone event, scheduled for Friday, August 2, will take place at the Afe Babalola University Event Centre in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.

It is expected to draw prominent Islamic scholars, government functionaries, and dignitaries from across the country.

Speaking at a press conference in Ado Ekiti, Chairman of the Planning Committee and former senator representing Ekiti Central, Babafemi Ojudu, said the event is designed to celebrate Sheikh Bello-Kewulere’s four decades of unwavering service, unity, and spiritual leadership within the Muslim community.

“This is a man who has devoted 40 years of his life to promoting peace, religious tolerance, and the growth of Islam, not only in Ekiti but across the entire South-West and beyond,” Senator Ojudu said.

He disclosed that the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Ishaq Oloyede, will serve as chairman of the occasion.

The event will also feature special recognition of three prominent government officials for their contributions to the promotion of Islam in Nigeria.

Also speaking, the Publicity Chairman for the anniversary, Barrister Tajudeen Ahmed, assured the public that comprehensive security arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth and peaceful celebration.

“Sheikh Bello-Kewulere’s impact over the years has been profound and this celebration will reflect the respect and honour he commands within and outside the Muslim Ummah,” Barrister Ahmed said.

Sheikh Bello-Kewulere, who became the Chief Imam of Ado Ekiti in 1984, is widely revered for his commitment to religious harmony and interfaith dialogue.
