Bobrisky Files ₦1 Billion Lawsuit Against VeryDarkMan Over Defamatory AI-Generated Audio

Nigerian crossdresser and social media influencer, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has filed a ₦1 billion lawsuit against Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, accusing him of defamation through an AI-generated audio clip.

The lawsuit, announced by Bobrisky on his Instagram account on Sunday, claims that VeryDarkMan released an audio recording that falsely implicated Bobrisky in illicit relationships with high-profile figures, including politicians and law enforcement officials.

According to Bobrisky’s legal team, VeryDarkMan exploited their client’s name and influence for personal gain, making baseless accusations about Bobrisky’s alleged involvement with top politicians and senior police officers.

The legal document states, “Our client has informed us that in your quest for social media stardom, you have continued to exploit his name, personality, and influence to create media buzz for your gains. You alleged that various Deputy Inspectors General of the Nigeria Police Force, lawmakers, senators, and politicians were involved in inappropriate relationships with our client, yet you have not provided any proof of these claims.”

The lawsuit also accuses VeryDarkMan of disregarding Bobrisky’s mental health, privacy, and constitutional rights. “You have persisted in making reckless and unfounded statements, including hearsay that you cannot prove, disregarding our client’s mental health, privacy, and right to life,” the statement continued.

Bobrisky’s legal team alleges that the AI-generated audio was part of a calculated defamation and blackmail attempt. They demanded that VeryDarkMan retract the defamatory content and issue a public apology.

“Our client became aware that you recently published an AI-generated audio call, claiming it was between an unnamed individual and him. For the record, our client has never had any such conversation. Your act of defamation and blackmail should be retracted within 24 hours.”

Bobrisky’s team further claims that the defamatory content has caused significant damage to his reputation, brand, and relationships. They allege that VeryDarkMan had threatened to release a damaging video if Bobrisky didn’t meet certain demands. “You have not only created a defamatory recording but continued to spread false information even after your threats were made public,” the suit states.

The lawsuit demands that VeryDarkMan remove the audio clip, publish a written apology in two national newspapers, record a video apology to be shared on social media, and pay ₦1 billion in damages within 24 hours.

The legal team also warned that if these demands are not met, they will pursue legal action. “Should you fail to take advantage of the alternative dispute resolution mechanism offered in this demand notice, we shall seek legal redress in a court of competent jurisdiction without further notice,” the letter concludes.

This legal move follows the viral release of the AI-generated audio by VeryDarkMan, where Bobrisky was accused of bribing Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) operatives to drop money laundering charges against him. Bobrisky has vehemently denied the allegations.
