NUJ Awards Excellence to Moba LG Chairman Fadugba for Advancing Security, Community Prosperity

In recognition of his commitment to fostering security and a prosperous community, the Executive Chairman of Moba Local Government, Hon. Bamidele Fadugba, has been honoured with an award of excellence for his exemplary leadership.

He received the award from the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), State Information Chape, during the chapel’s 2024 press week held at the Old Governor’s Office in Ado Ekiti.

The ceremony was graced by prominent personalities, including the Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Chief Taiwo Olatunbosun; Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Mr. Yinka Oyebode; Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Prince Olusesan Alabi; Director General of the Bureau of Civic Orientation and Citizenship, Pastor (Mrs.) Olawumi Famuyiwa; and the NUJ State Chairman, Mr. Kayode Babatuyi, among others.

In his acceptance speech, Hon. Fadugba expressed his gratitude to God for blessing Ekiti State with Governor Oyebanji, whom he described as an exceptional leader and thanked the NUJ State Information Chapel for counting him worthy of the award.

He acknowledged the Governor’s unwavering support, which has enabled him to serve the people of Moba Local Government effectively.

Addressing the critical role of security in societal and economic development, Hon. Fadugba emphasized that achieving food abundance in the state would be impossible without a secure environment.

This reality, he noted, informed the establishment of MASE, a local security outfit tasked with ensuring the safety of farmers and residents across the local government area.

“Without security, there can be no peace in the society. Even farmers will not be able to go to their farms,” Fadugba said.

He added that through MASE, the local government facilitated the cultivation of eight hectares of land, with the security outfit overseeing and protecting the workers on these farms.

Hon. Fadugba who dedicated the award to Governor Oyebanji, reaffirmed his commitment to aligning with the Governor’s vision for sustainable development and food security in the state.

“This award inspires me to continue following the Governor’s trajectory of achievements across all sectors,” he said.

The event also celebrated other distinguished individuals, including the Obaleo of Erinmope Ekiti, Oba (Dr.) Aikuirawo Sunday; the Special Adviser to the Governor on Gender Empowerment and Mobilization, Chief (Mrs.) Kemi Olaleye; and the Executive Chairman of Ekiti South East Local Government, Hon. Antonia Omonusi, among others.
