Oyo 2027: APC Group Cautions Adeseun Over Alleged Endorsement, Warn Against Party Division

A group within the Oyo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), “United Oyo Peace Ambassador” has raised alarm that an alleged plot by a Chieftain of the party in the state, Sen. Ayoade Adeseun and some individuals to openly endorse a certain gubernatorial aspirant of the party ahead of the 2027 election in the state will cause more harm than good to the party.

The group urged the Chieftain to desist from the act, which, according to them, poses a threat to the party’s chances in the state in the 2027 election.

A statement by the Chairman of the group, Akinlabi Adeogun stated that instead of endorsing an aspirant which can cause more havoc to the unity of the party ahead of the 2027 election, the party and its members should focus on May 29 when the party will pick its gubernatorial candidates.

According to him, over three aspirants have spent millions of naira to obtain nomination and expression of interest forms to contest for the gubernatorial seat, saying openly endorsing an aspirant at this critical time will weaken the chances of the party against its opponents.

The group warned that once APC is weak, it will give power to PDP, ADC, Labour, and other parties to overcome APC in the 2027 elections.

The group however called on the leadership of the party both at the national and state levels, to prevail on Adeseun and his caucus not to cause division in the party ahead of the 2027 elections in the state.
