The convener of the monthly fitness initiative, “BAO Walk”, Hon. Bimbo Daramola, has reaffirmed the significance of the health-focused program, describing it as a symbolic exercise aimed at honoring Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, for his dedication to improving the healthcare sector.
Speaking after the second edition of the walk, held in Ijero Local Government Area, Daramola emphasized the need for proactive healthcare.

He urged residents to prioritize their well-being, stating that people should not wait until they fall ill before taking steps to maintain good health.
Daramola commended Governor Oyebanji’s efforts in enhancing healthcare facilities across various communities, including Iye, Ijesa Isu, and Ijan.
He encouraged the people of Ekiti to complement the government’s initiatives by adopting healthier lifestyles to prevent diseases.

The former House of Representatives member stressed that while the governor has played a vital role in elevating healthcare in the state, individuals must also take personal responsibility for their health.
He highlighted the importance of daily exercise, a balanced diet, and stress management in preventing illnesses such as high blood pressure and diabetes.
Daramola, who previously built a 32-bed hospital during his tenure in the House of Representatives between 2011 and 2015, reaffirmed that BAO Walk is a non-political initiative.

He clarified that the program is designed to promote fitness and well-being for all residents across the 16 local government areas of Ekiti State, regardless of political affiliations.
He further emphasized that investing in personal health is a crucial responsibility, urging individuals to take their well-being seriously to complement the government’s efforts in strengthening the healthcare sector.

Several participants in the walk, including Oluwafemi Kasali, Lanre Aribisala, and the Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Home Affairs, Hon. Ọjọ Atibioke, echoed Daramola’s sentiments.
They stated that the event served as a platform to showcase Governor Oyebanji’s contributions to the health sector while also educating the public on the importance of fitness in preventing diseases.
