…Says Initiative Will Boost Ekiti’s Economy, Service Delivery
The Chairman of Moba Local Government, Hon. Bamidele Fadugba, has lauded Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, for his approval of the new N70,000 minimum wage for state workers, describing the decision as a testament to the administration’s commitment to the welfare of the workforce.
Hon. Fadugba, in an interview with newsmen, commended Governor Oyebanji’s administration’s impressive initiative in planning the consequential adjustments on the basic salaries of workers at all levels.
He said the approval reflects the governor’s empathy and dedication to improving the living standards of civil servants, who form the backbone of public service delivery in the state.
The Moba LG Boss believed that affected workers and individuals would be happy when they received the new minimum wage, going by the significant increment added to their salaries.
“This bold step will not only uplift the morale of workers but also enhance productivity and service delivery across all sectors of the state,” he added.
Fadugba noted that the wage increase would have a ripple effect on the state’s economy with workers having more disposable income, adding that local businesses would experience a surge in patronage, thereby stimulating economic activities and boosting the overall prosperity of Ekiti State.
He further praised Governor Oyebanji’s leadership for prioritizing the well-being of Ekiti residents, citing the administration’s strides in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and agriculture as examples of its transformative governance.
Hon. Fadugba urged workers to reciprocate the government’s gesture by redoubling their commitment to excellence in their respective roles, expressing confidence that the new wage policy would set a precedent for other states, positioning Ekiti as a model for worker-friendly governance in Nigeria.
Fadugba also pledged his continued support for the state government’s initiatives aimed at fostering sustainable development and economic growth.
