Chairman of the Ekiti State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Salman Adedipe

Intending pilgrims from Ekiti State have commenced comprehensive pre-departure preparations at the Ilorin Hajj Camp in Kwara State ahead of their journey to the holy land of Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

The camp, which also accommodates pilgrims from Kwara and Ondo States, was a hive of activity as health checks, documentation and orientation exercises were carried out to ensure a smooth and spiritually enriching pilgrimage.

Chairman of the Ekiti State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Salman Adedipe, alongside other board members, were on the ground to supervise the entire process.

Alhaji Adedipe assured that all logistical and welfare arrangements were in place, including educational sessions led by Islamic scholars, aimed to educate the pilgrims on the spiritual and practical aspects of Hajj, proper conduct and the significance of each ritual.

Also, a member of the Board and a seasoned journalist, Mrs Fatima Bello, said health officials had immunised the Pilgrims as a precautionary measure against potential health risks associated with international travel and large congregations.

Mrs Bello noted that the vaccination exercise was being supervised by qualified medical personnel to ensure that all pilgrims meet the health requirements set by Saudi Arabian authorities.

An accreditation process was equally carried out to verify the identity and travel documents of each pilgrim to ensure full compliance with both Nigerian and Saudi regulations.

Meanwhile, many of the intending Pilgrims have expressed appreciation to Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for his administration’s commitment to their welfare.

They lauded the governor for facilitating seamless arrangements and prioritising their safety, comfort and spiritual needs.

The structured and well-coordinated preparations, anchored by the board’s leadership and backed by the state government, have positioned Ekiti pilgrims for a successful and rewarding Hajj experience
