Ekiti Pilgrims in Mecca Offer Prayers for Governor Oyebanji, State’s Progress

Indigenous pilgrims from Ekiti State, currently performing the Hajj in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, have offered fervent prayers for the continued peace, progress, and good governance in the state under the leadership of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

The spiritual exercise is being coordinated by the State Amir-l-Hajj, Barrister Tajudeen Ahmed, with strong support from the Ekiti State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.

Speaking on behalf of the pilgrims, the Board Chairman, Alhaji Salman Adedipe, expressed profound appreciation to Governor Oyebanji for the comprehensive support extended to the pilgrims, both before their departure and upon arrival in Saudi Arabia.

He commended the state government for ensuring smooth transportation, quality feeding arrangements and comfortable accommodation.

Alhaji Adedipe noted that the pilgrims were particularly motivated to intercede for the state in response to Governor Oyebanji’s consistent emphasis on spiritual rebirth and divine guidance in driving Ekiti’s development.

He said the governor’s belief that Ekiti’s remarkable progress is rooted in God’s grace has resonated deeply with the Muslim community, especially as the state continues to enjoy relative peace and stands as a model of good governance in Nigeria.

A member of the Pilgrims Welfare Board and one of the pilgrims, Mrs. Fatima Bello, also affirmed that the pilgrims offered special prayers for Ekiti’s progress and for Governor Oyebanji’s continued wisdom and strength in governance.

She echoed the gratitude of the Muslim community for the governor’s commitment to inclusivity and fair representation.

Governor Oyebanji has also been widely lauded for his inclusive leadership, notably for appointing Muslims into key positions across his administration; an action that has earned him goodwill and strong backing from the Muslim population in the state.

Before their departure, the governor had urged the pilgrims to uphold the values of discipline, honesty, and integrity, and to represent Ekiti and Nigeria positively, while advising them to strictly observe Saudi laws and remain focused on their religious obligations.

As the pilgrims continue their spiritual journey in the Holy Land, the Ekiti Muslim community has reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Oyebanji administration, pledging continued prayers for its success.
